Pyria (pyorrhoea) treatment in ayurveda and best toothpaste for bleeding gums

What is pyorrhea or pyria? Is there any treatment of pyorrhea in Ayurveda?

In the post we are going to talk about periodontal (gums disease)  pyria or pyorrhea, which is caused by gingivitis and plaque buildup that infects the gums resulting in bad breath of mouth, inflammation of gums and in severe condition one can loose their teeth.

Pyorrhea is progressive disease that must be treated on time otherwise it can be worsen and can occurs several other health related issues.

Common symptoms of pyorrhea can be noticed as follows:
  • Bad breath of mouth
  • Inflammation and tenderness, swelling on gums
  • Bleeding gums while brushing your teeth.
  • Loosening of teeth in severe condition
  • Gum pockets and Pus discharge from pockets
  • Mouth ulcers can also be seen at times
  • Abscesses and Receding gums
  • Bone erosion etc..
Treatment of pyorrhea (pyira) - If noticed on time it can be easily treated. Pyorrhea is progressive disease and can be worsen in severe cases, so one must consult with the dentist to halt or reverse by treatment.

If you takes care of normal mouth hygiene there are less chances to occurs pyria. But once it occurs, one must seek for a proper treatment. In ayurveda pyorrhea can be easily treated in natural way. 

Ayurveda treatment of pyorrhea at home
  • One must take care of the oral hygiene
  • Brush teeth at least twice a day
  • If possible use neem datun to clean the teeths.
  • Rinse your mouth every two to three hours every day with mixture of worm water and salt until the situation gets better
  • Use tulsi (bay leaves) powder to clean teeth once a day or mixture of bay leaves(tulsi) powder and mustered oil
  • Or apply the salt and mustered oil mixture on your gums and teeth and rinse it after 10 to 15 minutes with worm water
  • you can use clove oil on yours gums and massage for few minutes to get rid of pain and inflammation. 
  • Use pyorrhea (pyria) toothpaste like vicco toothpaste, Pyrol or Dabur Lal paste or dant manzan etc... these are the best toothpaste for bleeding gums in India. There are many other good toothpaste available in the market that can be used on your doctors advice.  
  • You can also use mouthwash such as colgate mouthwash plax for instant relief.
Note: But these treatment is suggested only in the initial stage or to prevent yourself from occurring pyria, if you are already suffering from pyria than must visit to your doctor(Dentist) for the best treatment. Seek medical advice as soon as possible.
