Number of Bones in Human Body

An adult human skeleton has 206 bones, whereas a newborn baby skeleton composed of 270 bones.

How many bones is there in human body and why there is variation in between a newborn baby and an adult human? Well, this is a general question that can be asked by anyone due to his/her curiosity to know themselves better. So, here is an answer.

Any normal human skeleton has 206 bones and 270 at the time of birth.

The reason of variation in the number of bones in a newborn baby and an adult human is because of fused bones. There are many bones in our body that fused together and reached to its maximum density till the age 30.

Here is the normal structure of bones in any adult human skeleton. You can divide human skeleton into parts Axial skeleton and Appendicular skeleton. Axial skeleton composed of 80 bones whereas Appendicular skeleton consist of 126 bones.
