What is Malaria?


Malaria is a kind of fever which is transmitted by infected mosquito bite(Anopheles mosquito). The Malaria fever is preventable and curable but in case of  delay in treatment it can be life threatening.


Symptoms of Malaria fever
  • High fever with headache and chill (you may feel sensation of cold with body shivering)
  • severe anaemia
  • Vomiting
  • Respiratory related problem
  • Abnormal bleeding in case of severe malaria case
  • impaired consciousness


Is malaria contagious what is the cause of malaria?
Malaria happens if an infected mosquito bites. Malaria can also be contagious in case of

  • Infected animal or insect bites or stings
  • Using of blood products like unclean needles or unscreened blood.

Malaria treatment
If you are having a malaria like symptoms immediately seek for medical advice as malaria get worse quickly and if it is not properly treated on time it can be life threatening.
Here is the list of things that you can do to prevent malaria.

  • Avoid visiting the high risk or infected area. Or take proper care to prevent the mosquito bite.
  • Take prescribed antimalaria tablets if necessary
  • If you feels any malaria like symptoms immediately seek for medical advice even if you are on antimalaria medication.
